Aftercare & Cremation Support

Gentle aftercare for your companion, with dignity and respect.

After your pet’s peaceful passing at home, Heart to Home will carefully guide you through aftercare arrangements, helping you choose the option that feels right for your family.

From transport to cremation and memorial choices, every step is handled with compassion, clear communication, and honour for the bond you shared.

How Aftercare Works

Support from the moment of goodbye through memorial choices.

After your pet’s peaceful passing, Heart to Home will gently guide you through each step of aftercare, so you are never left to navigate decisions on your own.

1

Immediately after your pet’s passing

Once your pet has passed, we take time to honour their body, answer any questions, and discuss aftercare options in a calm, unhurried manner that respects your family’s pace.

2

Arranging transport and cremation

We coordinate transport to our trusted partner, Gateway Pet Memorial, and confirm whether you wish to proceed with communal cremation or private cremation with ashes returned home.

3

Memorial items and return home

Together we review any memorial keepsakes you would like, such as paw prints or urns. Your pet’s ashes and chosen memorial items are returned to you within the timeframe discussed at your appointment.

If you have specific cultural, religious, or personal wishes for aftercare, please share them. We will do our best to accommodate and support what feels most meaningful for your family.

Memorial Options

Meaningful ways to honour your pet’s memory.

Every family has their own way of saying goodbye. Heart to Home works with you and our trusted partner, Gateway Pet Memorial, to help choose memorial options that feel right for your home, your space and your heart.

Whether you prefer to scatter ashes in a special place, keep them close in a keepsake urn, or focus on small mementos such as paw prints, we will walk you through each option and answer any questions you may have.

Ready When You Are

We’re here to support you — gently, respectfully, and without rush.

If you’re considering in-home euthanasia or would like to discuss aftercare and cremation options, you can request an appointment or text for support. Dr. Judy will respond as soon as possible.
